Apollo

About Apollo

“Hi! My name is Apollo. I came to Illinois with my six siblings and have recently been fostered with my sister, Starbuck. I was born on 12/28/2022 and I’m a Great Pyrenees mix. I currently weigh about 17lbs. and I a growing like a weed! I’m a sweet and loveable fluff ball. I’m a little more cautious in new situations than my sister, so I will stay close to my person until I feel safe. Don’t be surprised if you look down at your feet and there I am looking up at you and waiting to you to signal that everything is okay, then I go back to playing. I am still working on potty training but getting better since the weather is warmer and we can spend more time outside playing in the backyard. I’m going to be a big boy! I would love to have a fenced in yard, I think it would be lots of fun! One of my favorite things is picking up sticks. I bark a little when you first put me in my pen at bedtime, but I settle down quickly and sleep all through the night. I am working on sitting and am starting to get it but I do get excited to see my foster and forget to keep my behind on the ground. My foster is so teaching me so many things and she spoils me by picking me up and showering me with hugs and kisses. If you would like to keep teaching me new things (I’m eager to learn), and keep giving me loves, send in an application to meet me.” Illinois law requires that all of our dogs and puppies be spay/neutered within 14 days of a veterinarian deeming the dog or puppy is ready to be altered. It includes spay/neuter when age-appropriate at our participating vets, age appropriate core vaccinations, fecal testing, deworming, flea and tick preventative,1st vet visit at one of our participating vets, and micro-chipping. We must have an application, conduct a phone interview, and meet your entire family to approve an adoption. Please email [email protected] for an application or additional details.
