About Lois
Several weeks ago we were alerted to a senior dog who had been sitting in a local shelter waiting to be adopted or rescued for six weeks. Her time was almost up and things were looking bleak for the old gal. As so often happens, those sad eyes and that sweet frosted face captured our heart and Lois … is safe and sound as a SHOF kid now. Lois is a friendly, 50-lb Hound mix and she’s at least ten years old. She is quite healthy for her age aside from testing positive for heartworms. For an older gal, Lois still has her fair share of spunk. She even does zoomies around the yard from time to time to the delight of her foster parents. Mostly she enjoys napping and lounging around the house, watching her humans go about their day. Lois is definitely a low-maintenance girl and she would do well in a home with people who enjoy a laidback lifestyle. Lois enjoys car rides and leisurely walks when the weather cooperates. She is a devoted companion who enjoys the simple pleasures of a tasty treat, a soft bed and a gentle pat on the head. Lois is never demanding but she enjoys any affection and attention you can spare. Because she is being treated for heartworms, Lois needs to be adopted locally within metro-Atlanta. HW treatment is a process that involves three appointments at our clinic in Lawrenceville over the next three months. All costs associated with this are covered by SOHF and we are happy to answer any questions you may have if you’re potentially interested in giving Lois her forever home. We would love for this dear girl to recuperate with a dedicated family by her side.
