Sir William

This is an amazing creature!! Chivalry is alive and well in the body of Sir William. Though he is a giant size (approximately 100 pounds and 8 years old), he has only shown himself to be gentle and calm with us. So far, he has not met a person he hasn’t liked, including our staff’s children. Though … his demeanor is noble, he’s no snob and has shown an interest in making friends with our other resident dogs and has been very polite toward our cats. Double dew claws on his rear legs, rich tan, black on his muzzle and around his eyes suggests that he may have Anatolian Shepherd in his ancestry. Even with his large size, he is easy to manage and keeps his room tidy. Evidenced from his clean behavior and the extra weight on his bones, it seems Sir William might have had a past life as a cared for inside dog. We will never know for sure because he was found by animal control as a stray and went unclaimed. This laid-back fellow seems melancholy, as if he is waiting for his person to come bring him home.
