“Hi, there, my name is Terry. I wasn’t always a street dog. I was raised from a puppy by a nice man, but as he got more dogs and for some reason, they didn’t like me, so he re-homed me to a new family. A year and two homes later, I found myself roaming around Cordova all alone. I was tired of being … neglected and left in the backyard all day. Like most dogs, I can quickly jump a 3-foot fence, so I did! Luckily, I met some friendly people at a local restaurant and Roadshow BMW who tried to help me, but I was too scared to let them get close. The Streetdog Family was alerted about me and asked if they could help. At the same time, my original dad saw pictures on the lost and found Facebook page and came to see if this was me. I was so delighted to see him!!! It had been over a year, and I squealed excitedly when he drove up. I couldn’t stop wagging and kissing him. He did some investigating to see what had happened since my re-homing. Five days later, he learned the truth that I had been re-homed again, wasn’t being properly cared for, and regularly escaped my yard. He is sad he can’t keep me forever but wants to ensure I have the best possible life, so he reached out to Streetdog Foundation for help. My wounds are healing, and I’m getting medical treatment for heartworms, but overall I’m in pretty good shape. I’m 2.5 years old, dog and kid friendly (no kitties, please). So this is my hope – I would love a real family who will love me and treat me like a cherished family member and let me participate in as many of their activities as possible. I am currently boarding, so I don’t get the full-time attention I would love and need to have. Would you be my foster or forever family? Behaviors not listed have yet to be tested.
