Chloe

About Chloe

Say hello to Chloe! Chloe came to us as a stray brought in by the Iowa County Sheriff’s Office. She was found near the Amana Nature Trails outside of Homestead. Since she was never reclaimed, she has been through the intake process of becoming a Safe Haven of Iowa County adoptable dog. Chloe is quite petite for a typical Husky, weighing just under 40lbs. She enjoys her time outdoors and on her walks. Chloe has been brought up-to-date on her vaccinations, spayed, micro-chipped and is ready to begin her search for her forever home. Chloe is adjusting to her temporary home at Safe Haven while still unsure of all the new surroundings, people, routine, etc. She has growled at caretakers with warning of being uncomfortable. After being under our care for several days and walked & cared for by several of our Safe Haven volunteers, there was a severe bite incident that occurred. The volunteer that was severely bit isn’t entirely sure of the exact trigger, but thought possibly that the intimidation of putting a leash over her head, being next door with another dog causing some jealously, and having several people in the room at the time of the incident may have some factors leading to the bite incident. Since we are unsure of the exact trigger, our staff and volunteers have been reading Chloe’s body language very thoroughly and taking her warning signs seriously. As we continue to get to know Chloe more, we will be sure to give updates. Right now, it would be preferred if Chloe could be adopted into a home that has experience with the Husky or alike breeds, as we know the Husky breed is not a breed for everyone or just any household. If you are interested in meeting Chloe, please apply for her.
