Sylvie is a 7-8-month-old, spayed female, Hound mix, 40 lbs. Sylvie is in a foster home in Maple, Valley, WA and is ready for meet and greets! Sylvie came to us as an owner surrender in Texas as they had too many dogs and were no longer able to care for her. When Sylvie first arrived to her foster … home she was very nervous about stairs and TVs so it was apparent she hadn’t spent much time in a house. With some patience, structure and love she is doing amazing! Sylvie is housebroken and crate trained. She loves her crate and uses this as her safe space to nap, chew on bones and hang out from time to time. She knows “sit” and responds to her name. She is using the doggy door in the foster’s home. Sylvie would do great with another dog about her size or larger. She’s had a hard time with a senior small dog in the foster home. Her home in Texas had 4 other dogs of various ages and sizes larger than her. Sylvie has been around kids as young as 8 and we think they tend to make her nervous. She would do best in a home with kids 12 years and older. Her current foster home has a couple of teenagers and she loves them! She loves to play and love on her humans. She is a huge fan of stuffies and chew bones. She walks great on a leash. She had a little hair loss which we attribute to poor diet and lack of care. With a few baths and consistent food, her hair is growing back nicely. We did have her checked out a vet to confirm this is not contagious and will resolve itself in time. We have no history with cats. We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog’s exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. The first step in our process is filling out an application. We will review your application as soon as we are able- there are two of us and we do the best that we can. We review applications on a first come first serve basis and look for the best fit/match for the dog and applicant. Out-of-town pets are cared for by non-local organizations who can make arrangements for the pet to be transported to your area.
