About Spark

Spark is a 10 -year-old and 51-pound female, and she is Treeing Walker Coonhound. Owner Surrender for not getting along with their dog, only had her 2 weeks- owner “rescued” her from rural shelter. Notes from owner: says she could not adjust/get along with their other senior dog in the home, who is a Beagle; says she is great with adults and kids of all ages; says she is afraid of storms, but will calm down with a Thundershirt; says other than the problem with the other dog, Speck is a “dream dog”, so sweet and easy. She may be good with other dogs but cannot coexist safely with their dog. She is so sweet. She is well-mannered and loves walks, car rides, and humans of all ages. She doesn’t spook easily and is laid-back. The volunteer at previous shelter said she had her around her 4 dogs of varying sizes and both sexes without issue for a few days. It could be she was location guarding. A neighbor’s off-leash dog ran right up to Speck without any polite restraint and Speck did not have any issue. A home with no other dogs would be the best bet for her at this time. She is currently at the rescue in TX and can make her way to WA with a pre-adoption which means getting your application in, approved and then paying the adoption fee to secure her for yourself to pick up in Olympia, WA on July 11th. Her adoption fee covers her spay vaccinations, hw test and transport fees.
