Home Dog Adoption Rollie & Asher (Foster Home Needed)

About Rollie & Asher (Foster Home Needed)

Meet Rollie & Asher (Foster Home Needed) Please be aware that during COVID 19 social distancing regulations, we will NOT be placing Asher & Rolloe in a foster or forever home. They are dogs with behavioral and fear issues, and we cannot simply “drop him off at your door”. Asher and Rollie will require multiple meetings with his handler at the home. His handler MUST be able to watch the interactions and advise foster or adopter how to manage the dogs appropriately. Please DO NOT send in an application for Asher g Rollie until COVID 19 resolved and we can go back to visiting fosters and adopters in their homes.. Thank you! *****”********************”””********* Rollie and Asher are best pals and can never be separated.. Both dogs were dumped in an abandoned gravel pit In Abbotsford about 3 years ago. They were extremely fearful and hard to catch. Asher is an Australian terrier mix and is about 5 years old…Rollie is a chihuahua pug mix and he is about 7 years old. They have come a long way since they were caught years ago. Both dogs have lots of fear issues and are not fully trusting of humans. Asher has become somewhat friendly and loving now, but he still has initial fears with new people and new environments. Rollie is still not 100% trusting of his human counterparts but is not aggressive. He does tend to follow Asher’s lead. Both dogs need a foster home to see how they will do in a home environment. Moving them to a new environment will re trigger their fears/ptsd and they will regress after being moved.. it will take a few months for them to settle into a new routine with new people. They need to be house trained. They have been good on leash but in quiet areas only. High traffic areas would not be suitable or ideal for Asher and Rollie. Noises such as cars and trucks would trigger their fears. Lots of strange people walking passed in busy areas would send them over the roof. They should be in a home with a fully fenced, escape proof yard to ensure they can be house trained. Their leash training should also begin there. Neither dog has any basic obedience training, as we only worked on them learning to trust humans. They should not be flooded or forced to do things most normal dogs would be doing such as going for walks on leash right away, no off leash dog parks. Not taking them to busy functions, stores or areas. They have been good with small and large dogs. And have left the cats alone. Absolutely NO children in the foster home due to them still having fear triggers. We are looking for a FOSTER HOME ONLY AT THIS TIME. No apartments. Access to fully fenced yard escape proof yard is a must. (no exceptions) If you are interested in fostering please send us an email and we will have you complete the foster application and have an interview and a home visit to ensure you have the experience and patience to work with our 2 special boys.
