About Reason (BRG)
Reason is a special girl who loves her people. She is a 7 to 8-year-old pittie who has lots of love to give. She came to us from a local shelter when one of our volunteers fell in love with her soulful eyes. Her ears were chopped off by whoever previously had her, so she has a tough look, but is … such a sweet girl. She has tons of personality, and is a happy go lucky girl who loves to play with toys. She loves bouncy balls. She makes for a really good best friend. She is little bit clingy so she would love someone who has availability for her. She would love to snuggle if you will let her. Once in our care, she was diagnosed with Canine Megaesophagus. This means the muscles of the esophagus fail and it cannot propel food or water into the stomach. In her foster home, we found a very easy and manageable way to feed her. It’s as simple as wetting her food and feeding her over the sink. Thankfully, we were able to get her a Baily’s chair custom made to make feeding time even easier. This special chair will come with her to her new home! She should be an only dog in the house. She may do okay with a super chill, laid-back sibling who can help her rebuild her confidence, but would probably do best as a single dog for right now. She thinks kitties are for chasing, too, so none of those please! Reason needs someone willing to work with her a bit. She crates up fine but does have some normal bad habits such as jumping up when she is excited. So basic training would be good. Reason is potty trained and crate trained. Reason has energy to go on hikes and adventures. But knows when to calm down and just show love. She is up to date on vaccines according to her age. She has received proper deworming, and comes with additional dewormer. She is microchipped, spayed, comes with 1-6 months of preventatives, and one month free trial of pet insurance. All of our animals receive a health certificate (this states a licensed veterinary saw the pet and deemed it healthy for travel; it is not a promise of perfect health.). Our transports are USDA certified and transport is included in adoption fee! She is currently being fostered in Houston, TX but will be traveling to the PNW as soon as she finds her perfect home! Out-of-town pets are cared for by non-local organizations who can make arrangements for the pet to be transported to your area.
