Born on September 26, 2022, Peaches is an absolute sweet dog that is doing so well in her foster home with cats and kids. She joins us from a remote fly-in only, Northern Ontario community. We’re unsure of her breed, but presumably a husky mix. Peaches is everything puppy, which means she’ll chew … your favourite shoes, poop on your floor, and nibble at your toes. Puppies can be so much work, so you need to be dedicated to having a puppy. We expect our adopters to work with professional trainers, to ensure puppies grow up into balanced adult dogs. Because Peaches is still so young, she will need someone home with her most often, or take your dog to work, so she can continue learning everything puppies need to learn from engaging daily. A puppy sitting home in a crate, waiting on someone to come home from a long day at work is not what we’re looking for, for Peaches. We’re unsure of her adult size, but presumably in the 50-pound range, but we have absolutely no idea and she could grow into a much bigger adult dog. Peaches is wonderful, and we’re looking for an equally wonderful adopter for this pup. She is ready to go home, anytime after November 21st, when her basic medical is up to date. She’ll require another vet visit to my vet in Markham, at my cost, for her 2nd vaccine booster. FROM HER FOSTER MOM: Peaches is growing leaps and bounds as she explores the world around her. She’s adjusted to her new routine and adapting well. She learned quickly where food is served and becomes vocal when wants to go outside. Peaches is an active puppy who loves to explore. She’s always following us and nibbling at our feet. She loves to play tug of war with blankets, robes and especially socks, keep those feet tucked in. She’s been dubbed wiggly due to her habit of wiggling in and out of every nook and cranny. She loves being outdoors and running around in the backyard. She is loving pup and loves her belly rubs. Crate training is ongoing. She’s starting to nap in closed crates. At night, her crate is left open to allow her access to her playpen, and she prefers that. Food schedule is slowly building and she’s a moody eater. We’re also working on taking her outside for poop and pee breaks regularly and she’s adjusting well. She’s bonding with all of us especially our son and she mostly ignores our cat. Overall, Peaches is fun loving puppy who’s growing and adjusting very well to her environment. As of today, though our protocols could change tomorrow, we are still moving forward with adoptions. Our process has changed from some of the previous elements: We are a registered animal welfare organization, so we are deemed an essential service. All paperwork completed online, video home visits, meet and greets outside respecting social distancing, leashes/collars/supplies wiped down and disinfected (GermiCide 3 wipes), disinfectant on the dog prior to handoff (Aqueos wipes for dogs). To note: the above description is relevant to this dog in his current & previous setting. Home changes & adopter personalities can bring out different behaviors not previously seen. We also do not claim, endorse, suggest or hint at, that any of our dogs are hypoallergenic, low shed or no-shed. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, deworming, flea/tick prevention, vaccinations, food, nose-to-tail health exam, dog beds, toys, leash collar, go home preventative based on season and custom dog tag.
