MIRA

About MIRA

Mira (previously known as Meda) was surrendered to the shelter because she is not housebroken and would prefer having other dogs around. She is gentle when playing, affectionate and friendly, shy; minds well and rides well in a car. She is said to know “sit, stay and heel”. She is gentle with children and good with adults. She is shy at first but likes other dogs, but she is scared of cats. Her previous owner said she is scared of metal bowls and going through doors. Mira is a very sweet dog that needs a patient person that can help her come out of her shell! Mira is excited to meet her new forever family! If you think that’s you, then please give the shelter a call! Meda was surrendered to the shelter due to being too spooky and bossy while mushing. According to the previous owners, Meda and her friend, Hammer, were given to the owner a month ago and the dogs have had a difficult time warming up. Meda is said to run well if she is next to a larger male. If she is paired with a female, she will nip at her and chase her while pulling. Meda is a young sled dog looking for a patient musher who can take the time to work with her and help her build her confidence. Meda will need a very active home, preferably one with a musher, but she lacks a thick coat so she cannot live outside. Meda is not housebroken and will need help learning how to live indoors. Meda will bolt and run away so it is important that she is properly contained and leashed at all times. If Meda were to get loose she may be extremely difficult to catch. Meda will be quite the project, but she is a hard worker and loves to pull hard! If Meda sounds like the dog for you, please give the shelter a call and make an appointment to meet her!
