Lilly

About Lilly

Lilly is a three-month-old female mixed breed puppy. We believe the litter looks like Labrador retriever & hound mixes. Lilly is one of 7 pups in the litter. The litter consists of 5 females and two males. The litter was living outside with very little human interaction. They were brought to a shelter in southern Kentucky and soon traveled to Ohio. The pups were extremely shy, frightened is a better description. In the pictures we initially saw of them, each pup tried their best to hide their face under another sibling. They wanted nothing to do with humans. We found a foster for the pups – all seven of them together. We didn’t know it at the time, but the key to reaching out to the pups was through other dogs. Luckily, the foster had dogs at her house and for most of the puppies, the transformation was almost instant. The puppies wanted nothing more than to play with the foster’s dogs. Although, the pups still preferred dogs over humans, they did allow and their children to pet and hold them in between play time with her dogs. We’re posting five of the seven pups right now, the other two just aren’t ready yet, but they are progressing. The pups will get their second shots and microchip on the 14th and will be adoptable. The litter had a difficult first three months of their lives, but they are healthy and becoming less frightened every day. If you’re interested in Lilly or any of her siblings, please apply today. Once approved, we’ll reach out to set up a meet and greet.
