Libby

About Libby

Libby is a 6-7-years-old Chiweenie. She weighs about 13lbs. Libby came from Memphis Animal Services. She was confiscated by animal control during a cruelty investigation. They owners “cooperated” by surrendering her so no charges were brought. Libby can be a little shy at first but very agreeable. She had no idea who I was when I picked her up at the shelter but she let me carry her around and she road shotgun home. She tolerated me that first afternoon. But when it came time for bed, she watched the other little dogs get picked up and put in bed so she came over to me and I placed her in bed with the others and my husband who beat us all to bed that night. When I got in bed she looked confused but laid down. The next morning she decided we were friends and she’s fabulous ever since. Libby is a quick learner. She figured out how to get in the big bed with us the first night. She discovered the fact that if she stares at my husband while he’s eating, he’ll give her a bite. She’s learned to routine to go outside and to also use the pee pads if she needs to. She’s also made lots of canine friends. She likes to snuggle up and nap with Chico or Wally (our 2 grumpy, ancient rescues). She also likes to cuddle in bed with us or with one of the other pooches at night. She’s pretty laid back and just goes with the flow. She’s a happy girl now and her tail goes nonstop. She loves treats but can get a little overzealous so watch your fingers! She’s turned into a lap dog who seeks out love. Libby is a great little dog who is ready for her forever home. Libby is fully vetted, up to date on vaccines, tested for heartworms and 5 diseases spread by ticks including Lyme, is spayed, micro-chipped and on heartworm and flea/tick prevention. As with all of our dogs, we recommend a basic obedience class to help her understand what is expected of her, and this also helps with the bonding process. Libby‘s adoption fee is $500, which covers all her vetting, preventatives, fostering costs and transportation. There are no additional fees. We do not adopt to anyone under the age of 21. Out-of-town pets are cared for by non-local organizations who can make arrangements for the pet to be transported to your area.
