Lexas (previously known as Pop Tart), was adopted from the shelter, but returned a couple years later due to her previous owner deploying and no longer able to care for her. According to her previous owner, Lexas is housebroken (will go to the gate and grunt when she needs to go potty), kennel … trained, calm and gentle. They stated that ‘Nothing really bothers her, as she is so calm’. Lexas is said to do well with babies, children and adults, although she has not lived with either dogs or cats in her most recent home, so introductions to other critters should be done slowly and carefully. Here at the shelter Lexas has been very sweet with her animal tenders and loves to be brushed! Even though she is 9 years old Lexas is still ready to go on her walks and is eager for her new adventure to begin! Pop Tart came to the shelter as a stray so very little is known about her. Pop Tart has been independent but friendly and vocal while at the shelter. She has been appropriate towards her canine neighbors, but introductions to new puppers should be done slowly. It is unknown how Pop Tart does with cats or kids, so caution should be used if attempting to introduce her to either. Pop Tart has been keeping her kennel clean while she has been with us, which may indicate she is housebroken and has some indoor skills. She is looking for an active home that will keep her busy and take her on adventures!
