Klondike is a 10-month-old Texas Blue Lacey. Klondike’s breed is the official state dog of Texas. His personality and heart are as big as his home state. This boisterous bundle of energy is looking for an active home with sturdy, confident children to love. He is a very tidy boy who would prefer to be the king of his castle with no other pets to threaten the throne. Klondike is a big, strong boy who needs a loving, confident family who will give him lots of physical activity and continued training. His potential family should have securely fenced yard with lots of room to run. Klondike says “Hello, Washingtonians. It sure does rain a lot here, but I also heard that there are lots of fun places to explore while on leash with my new family. Please understand I don’t quite get along with other animals, including fellow canines, at this time due to my sheer size, exuberance, personality, and need for continued positive reinforcement training.” Please see Breed Information Below: “Lacys are intelligent, intense, active and alert. They originally were created to work feral hogs. The Lacy was developed into an all-around working breed for ranchers, cowboys, hunters and trappers. They have incredible drive and determination. Bold and brave, they excel at herding cattle and hunting wild boar. They are naturally territorial and will protect their property. Though Lacys make excellent companions, they don’t do well with passive owners. This breed needs a calm yet assertive leader who establishes clear rules. Lacys also need consistent mental and physical exercise. Due to their intelligence, they can be quickly trained to perform many tasks.” If you have further questions, e-mails are the only method of communication at this time. We all care about the health of our 2-legged caregivers and the community at large, so as a precaution we are temporarily suspending our public open hours. We are still taking email inquiries and applications, and will be in touch with you as soon as we are able. We appreciate everyone’s understanding during this difficult time! Stay Well!
