Kira is an estimated 5- to 6-year-old (though she doesn’t act like it!) German Shepherd who is looking for a new home. She was found as a stray by the Quincey, WA Animal Shelter back in October 2020. She spent many months at a humane society where she was adopted twice and returned within days for … not getting along with the resident dogs. (Introductions must be sloe for her to be successful!) She joined DGS in April 2021 and is looking for her happily ever after home. Seattle Foster Update: Kira is settling in well. She’s sweet with people and has previously lived in a home with kids and did well (we’d recommend kids over 6). She’s true to her breed in that she’s completely loyal to her people. Kira loves to go on car rides and get groomed – her ultimate favorite activities. She was previously in a foster home with other dogs, and even though she needed slow intros she was able to live peacefully with them and even enjoyed playing with one of the resident dogs. Kira knows her basic commands and is crate trained but is looking for a confident owner as she can be on the anxious side and feeds off her people’s energy. In the house, Kira is pretty low key but she’s excited to go out on walks too. Kira would prefer to be the only dog in the home and wouldn’t be a good fit for a home with cats. No first-time dog owners. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $450, which includes spay/neuter, current rabies/DAPPV/bordetella vaccinations, microchip, health certificate, and heartworm test. All adoption fees are donations to a Washington non-profit corporation and all donations go to benefit the animals in our rescue.
