“Woo-hoo, I have arrived in Canada and am living in foster home on Vancouver island! I am an 8-month-old jindo mix pup from S.Korea. My mom and my 6 littermates were being kept in a small cage solely for the purpose of establishing ownership of the property the cage sat upon. The person who owned … us had no interest at all in our welfare. It was only because people passing by would toss us food and fill up our water bowls, that we survived. One of these people decided to notify KAWA (Korean Animal Welfare Association) about us and thankfully they came to our rescue, but during those early months of life we had minimal human interaction. Each of us has been lucky enough to come to Canada now. Most of my siblings have been adopted and I’m hoping it will be my turn next. Because I am a sensitive soul who can still be nervous at times, I will need a kind and patient adopter who has the time to help me build confidence. A quiet home without children would be best. Being around a calm, older dog has been very good for me, so I hope there is another dog in my future home. A yard would be ideal, but if you don’t have one, we can make it work. I’m fully housetrained, playful and curious, like any young puppy. It seems to take me a little longer to trust men than women, but with time and training I am getting there. Please come and meet me. I’m ready for you. I am vaccinated and microchipped and my adoption fee is $750 + tax.” Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of the descriptions. Remember, every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person leading him and the environment. The age and breed of a dog is almost always an educated guess and at no time do we promise or guarantee the age or breed of a dog. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age.
