About Izzy and Fred – Bonded Pair
Izzy and Fred is a bonded pair. These dogs are being fostered in Dallas TX and must be adopted within the Dallas, North Central Texas or the southern Oklahoma area. Izzy is 10 years old and Fred is 11 years old. Both are about 6 pounds. They are great with other small dogs, but unknown with cats. … All adult home or home with older, mature children (13 and older) is ok for them. These two chihuahuas are super sweet and are inseparable. They are there for one another, and will be there for you too! They both have sweet souls and are looking for a family who will love them and nurture them as they grow up together. Izzy and Fred have been through a lot the last few months. They are originally from Lubbock Texas. Their owner that they had lived with their entire life sadly passed away. Prior to passing, the owner made arrangements for her dogs to live together with a family member. Unfortunately, the family member had larger dogs and the larger dog did not welcome them into the home. This sweet family reached out to Wine to the Rescue (a great non-profit in the DFW area), who connected them to CRT. We were happy to accept them into our program. Izzy and Fred are a great duo, and we are committed to finding a forever home where they can stay together. Izzy and Fred are happy dogs. They get along well with the other small dogs in their foster home. They fit right in. Both enjoy being out in the backyard. Our unseasonably warm weather has given them extra time to explore the yard and lay in the sun. They also both love to chase squirrels. They have moderate activity and enjoy life! When these siblings are done exploring, they crash for a nap. You can often find them snuggled together in the same bed with their heads laying on each other! They are not very interested in toys. But they do really love treats – LOL. More than anything, Izzy and Fred love their family. They are very adaptable and warm up quickly to people as they meet them. Izzy can be a little shy at first, but when she warms up to you, she will melt your heart. They love to hang with you in whatever room you are in so they don’t miss any family fun. When you are ready to relax, they are ready too. Fred wants to find a lap to sit on or a human to cuddle with. He will follow you from room to room until you have time to give him pets or kisses. Izzy can be “Miss Independent”, but when she’s ready to relax with you or cuddle with you, she’ll let that adorable tongue hang out and tip toe her way over to you! Who can resist Miss Izzy? They both love to cuddle. They will both climb up on top of you and share your love. They are often intertwined on their foster’s lap! They freely give you affection and lots of kisses. This warms our hearts so much. Both Izzy and Fred are super smart. They fit in with the pack and the daily routines very quickly. They are potty trained and freely use the doggy door in their foster home. They have not had potty accidents in their foster home. Note that they recently were at a baby sitters when their foster parents were traveling and the babysitter had another male dog who was a “marker”. Fred decided to follow the lead and was marking a bit, so we put a belly band on him. But as soon as he returned to his foster home, he stopped. If you don’t have a marker in your home, we think you are in the clear! At night, they sleep in a doggy bed in their foster’s bedroom. They also love sneaking into bed with their humans, and they would really like sleeping with their family if you would let them! They enjoy taking walks and we think they would love to live with a family who would take them on daily walks. Izzy and Fred have grown up together. Izzy is 10 years old. She weighs about 6 pounds and is reddish and white in color. She is so cute when her tongue hangs out. Fred is about 11 years old. He is about 6.5 pounds and is creme colored with a light tan on him. We love his floppy ears. Both of them love dinner time. They enjoy their human family so much, they want you to be in the room with them when they are eating. Izzy loves food and will do a dance and a twirl when it’s dinner time. This makes us smile. Both dogs have moderate energy. Their perfect home has a yard and a human that works from home or is retired. We know they are very bonded and we will be adopting them together so they can spend their lives together in one family. Due to their laid back personalities, we recommend a home with no children, or a home with older, mature children (13 and over). Izzy and Fred are being fostered in the Dallas, Texas area.
