Heisenberg was surrendered to the shelter because he had bitten a passing dog after being let out to use the bathroom. Heisenberg’s family indicated that he had done well with the younger female dog in their household since the day they adopted him, but that they did not feel like they could safely … handle him around other dogs, as he seems to get overstimulated by unknown dogs, and he is a very big, strong boy! Heisenberg is said to be crate trained, housebroken (will cry or stare at the door), rides well in a car, and knows some basic commands. His family indicated that he was wonderful with people and very loving. Heisenberg can be a bit of a blockhead and may not always mind well when he has other ideas in his head, and may chew if left unattended. Heisenberg’s previous owner had indicated that he could be defensive when meeting new dogs, so we are requiring that Heisenberg go to a home without other dogs that is able to keep him leashed or inside a secured fenced yard when outside. Heisenberg has been very gentle with his animal tenders while at the shelter. While Heisenberg’s original owner had shared that he does ok with cats, his most recent owner indicated that he will chase pocket pets, so caution should be used if introducing him to new smaller critters. Heisenberg was said to do well with children in his original home, so he may just prefer an all human pack, rather than one with other animals.
