About “Gus”

Do not apply if you are not experienced with rescue or behavioral dogs. Please read Gus’s bio. Do not apply if you do not have experience with leash reactive dogs or a structured fully fenced yard. Gus does get slong with other dogs and must be slowly introduced. He would make a great companion for a single female routine home that is experienced. Seeking an experienced home only, and that is willing to go to training if needed. Gus is a neutered 11 # adorable teddy bear of a terrier! Gus is back in our rescue after 4 years due to a family change. Gus loves his daily walks and requires a semi active experienced home, that will commit to training and help him feel confident. He is thriving in foster care and doing well with socializing with other dogs. Gus recently had a dental, and is current with all required vaccines, plus the Leptospirosis vaccine. He is microchipped, sweet and warms up to people quickly! He does favor women so neuteralizing and spending equal time is a must if a couple is adopting. Gus wants to be your buddy and lap dog! Gus is a Norfolk Cairn terrier mix with a love for adult humans. Gus would be a great companion dog for an experienced dog person. He requires daily walks, and play time. Gus loves attention and therefore would like to be an only dog but also likes other dogs. At times, he does not like sharing his human, and can be bossy if another dog try’s to infringe on his human action. Gus is cat curious – no cats for gus. Gus is semi active, healthy and enjoying life! He would be a great partner for a terrier savy person or couple. Gus knows commands “sit” and “down” and walks well on a leash. Gus would be a great dog for a active – interactive family. He sleeps well in a crate, but would love to be on the bed. Gus is an indoor dog and requires grooming every 6 weeks. He is ready to be a part of your family household. Gus enjoys sight seeing and is a happy boy. Gus walks well on a leash and is up for anywhere you want to go he is healthy and ready to love! Gus seeks a on board adopter that is going to be comitted to his success. Positive reinforcement training only. Safety must always be first. His past is unknown from the shelter. Gus was rescued on his last day at the shelter. No one was coming for him and his time was up. Gus was a shelter favorite and we can see why. Gus is friendly and loves attention. He has moderate to active energy. He would be a great dog for a Condo dweller or house environment. His ideal home would be a all adult home that will love and care for him like a family member. We would like to see him in in a dedicated, stable, routine, semi-active home. Condo life would be great or a home with a fully fenced yard. Gus requires grooming to keep him looking sharp. If away from the home longer than 4 hrs a dog walker/caregiver is required for a potty break. Adoption fee: $650.00. The fee is needed for vetting and for the next dog.
