About Gramps

How many of you are mothers? How many are mothers that would go to the mat for your precious angels? Well, that is me, from the moment that I hear an animal is coming into my care until I find the people, I trust to take over my job they are mine (well or Kara’s, Mary’s or my other fosters) . When people call and are not interested in one of my special angels it hurts my heart. Gramps came in as a stray on a bite hold. He was clearly neurological and it took me four days to get him eating, drinking and eliminating well. I kind of suspect he eats dry kibble out of pride not self-preservation. No matter what I ask of him, he has never offered to bite. He sleeps in his special bed and where ever I walk he is walking on my feet. He is not coordinated enough to walk souly on his own feet next to me. He tries to play or chase his tail and it makes me laugh. He has not followed anyone else in our home but me. He has dealt with being fully vetted, my questioning of his adopt ableness. I have told myself if I was a better rescue people, I would put him down. But he is not ready for that. He is looking for a unicorn home that can love him like I do. That can take what he has to offer every day and love him for the gift. I am praying to find his home for the holidays. He deserves the best because I am not sure he ever knew that before. He is such a loving soul, and tries as hard as he can, he just might have had love before to learn what that meant. I love this dog so… can you? He never pottys in his bedroom but if not taken out side he does not volunteer to go out.
