Esme

About Esme

This is Esme, a delightful little pup who may not have a long tail, but makes up for it with her adorable bob-tail and full-body wiggles when she’s happy! At about 8 months old and weighing 35 pounds, she’s spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all her vaccines, including flea and heartworm prevention. Esme came to us with a severe skin infection, but she’s been successfully treated and her coat is coming in beautifully, even if she may not fully regrow all her belly and chest fur. She loves her baths and is great on a leash, getting along well with other animals. Playful and friendly, she would thrive in a home with another playful dog. Esme is also pretty relaxed around cats and chickens! She walks nicely on a leash and doesn’t react to other dogs, bikes, or cars. She seems housebroken (with the occasional accident possible), and also crate-trained for meals and when she’s alone. Esme sleeps peacefully on a dog bed in our bedroom. Though we don’t know much about her past, she’s eager to learn about her new home and will need a patient family to help her adjust. This sweet girl, who has a bit of a playful nipping habit when excited, would really benefit from some basic obedience training to keep her safe and strengthen her bond with her new family. Esme is best suited for a home with older kids (10 and up), another playful dog, and an active lifestyle that includes her in the fun. Since she’s sensitive to loud voices, a calm environment is ideal. Currently, she’s being fostered near Pittsburgh, PA. If you have any questions about this lovable girl, please reach out today!
