This is Chewy Note: “I’m looking for a home with a yard and someone with dog experience. Hello lovely people of Canada. I am a handsome young dog, possibly a spitz mix, who recently arrived from China. I weigh 15lbs. Before coming here I was in a shelter with a lot of other small dogs and I loved … to play with them, but my new home has a big, energetic young dog that I have taken a disliking to, so sadly I have to find a new home. I’ve only been in Canada a short time and I am still very timid around strangers, so it will take a while before I trust you. I’ll need to find someone patient but confident and preferably with some dog experience. My new home should have a yard because I do enjoy running around in a fenced-in area and I’m only just becoming brave enough to go for leash walks. My foster dad says he’s very careful not to let me off-leash anywhere but the yard because it would be impossible to get me back until I have developed a bond with my person. At the moment I’m just beginning to follow him around the house and let him pet me. If you’re O.K with taking things at my pace, then I know I’ll eventually be relaxed enough to enjoy just being a dog. Will you be my guide in this strange new world? I am neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. My adoption fee is $800 + tax and includes the cost of the cargo flight which brought me here.” LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of the descriptions. Remember, every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person leading him and the environment. The age and breed of a dog is almost always an educated guess and at no time do we promise or guarantee the age or breed of a dog. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age.
