About Camo (ALG)
Camo has an amazing disposition and is going to be an awesome companion for someone needing a Buddy! Camo is approx 1.5 years old and weighs 70 lbs. He is a strikingly handsome boy with boxer and American Bulldog features, but we cannot be sure of his breed since he is a rescue. He has an … incredible stature and build, and gets compliments on his handsome looks wherever he goes! He is in great condition and the vet says he looks to be in great health. Camo is fully vetted and ready to join a forever family. Camo is a laid-back dog. He seems secure in himself, and generally is a happy dog. He has become familiar with the dogs of all sizes (from 10 lbs to 100 lbs) at his foster home and free roams with all of them. He would do best with a family who has had a dog before so that they are familiar with how to point a dog in the right direction with basic obedience training. He would do well with older children since he is a big boy. He has not been cat tested so bringing him into a home with a cat would be at your own risk. It is always best, as a general rule of thumb, to adopt opposite sex of your current dog; so he should be paired with a female for a balanced pack. Camo is playful but not hyper. He is not fully trained, but has a soft mouth taking treats, and seems eager to please and learn. He does not have perfect recall, but does not run away either. He will play with toys but is not a high drive dog so it’s a casual thing with toys, and not an eager beaver thing. Camo does seem potty trained. He does not mark. He still squats, and prefers to go out and poop in private away from people. He is not high energy but should still be exercised because as a general rule of thumb, a tired dog is a good dog. Camo has done well with the dogs at his foster home, but we never recommend dog parks, as it is unfair to expect a dog to get along with all dogs. Camo will make a very loyal companion for someone looking for an adventure partner. He is pretty easy on leash and has an agile build to keep up on hikes or jogs. His adoption fee is $500 and that includes all vetting and transport, as well as 6 months of heartworm prevention. Out-of-town pets are cared for by non-local organizations who can make arrangements for the pet to be transported to your area.
