Beowulf is about 2-3 years old, and a very sweet boy. He’s some kind of Asian mix, with a large part being Husky! (in a nice way!!) Several of our Asian-breed-cousin volunteers (Shibas) have suggested that he looks very Shiba in the face too… He is very friendly and sits down right in front of … you to receive pets. When he gets excited during petting he’ll cradle your hand in his mouth gently. When he sees another dog on leash, he can react excitedly with a bit of barking, but not aggression. His foster Dad has discovered that he knows a few commands, like “sit” and “shake”. If he has to do something he doesn’t like (for example, wearing a cone following his neuter) he demonstrates a little husky howl! He can find loud noises a little startling, maybe through previous lack of experience. Beowulf eats well, and should top out in the mid 40lbs range. We have not tested him with cats or other small animals at this stage, but he is currently in a foster home with another similar sized dog (a female Jindo). We have not tested him with small children yet either. As with any dog to dog introduction, or dog to child, or other small animal, we would recommend caution, regardless of dog’s breed. Contact us to find out more information about this lovely boy. His foster home is in Renton, WA. Adoption fees are $350.
